The AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

American University offers their AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship to promote educational access and opportunity, while simultaneously enhancing international diversity. The goal of AU EGL is to provide students with the proper skillset and training they need, in hopes that they will return home and use their new knowledge to improve their under-resourced and underfunded communities.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to international students who have overcome various obstacles and challenges, as well as those from diverse and underrepresented global and socioeconomic backgrounds. Applicants must also have a minimum GPA of 3.8 and meet the English language proficiency requirements.

AWARD:

Recipients will be awarded 100% fee waivers for tuition, housing accommodations, and visa application costs. Only one student is chosen for this scholarship each year. If you apply and aren’t chosen, but wish to continue with your application process at AU, you may be eligible for a partial scholarship.

Wesleyan University's Freeman Asian Scholarship Program

Wesleyan University offers their Freeman Asian Scholarship Program each year, with the goal of improving mutual understanding and strengthening ties between the United States and Asian countries. As a result, numerous Freeman Scholars have become influential educators and ministers in their home countries, and Wesleyan University hopes to continue growing this number.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to citizens of the following countries: People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand or Vietnam. Applicants must have completed their secondary studies and meet the English language proficiency requirements. 

Recipients will be awarded around $80,000 USD to cover the costs of tuition, housing, and other fees. 

Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program

The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program is developing Africa’s next generation of leaders. This program allows students, whose talent and promise exceed their financial resources, to complete their education. Mastercard hopes to develop leaders who are transformative, and encourage them to be active contributors in their communities.

ELIGIBILITY:

The undergraduate program is open to students 29 years old or younger, while the graduate program is open to students 35 years old or younger. Each educational institution has their own eligibility criteria, so applicants must carefully review the requirements posted by the institution they are applying to. 

Recipients will be awarded 100% fee waivers for tuition, housing, books, and other materials. Further awards will vary depending on the university.

University of the West International Scholarships

The University of the West offers a warm welcome to their international students by providing multiple merit based scholarships. These grants are intended to award outstanding academic and personal achievement, while simultaneously making higher education more affordable and accessible. UWest offers scholarships to both their incoming and current international undergraduate and graduate students. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship. 

Undergraduate recipients can qualify for $6,000 USD upon entering their freshman year of studies, while graduate recipients can qualify for $7,000 USD. More financial aid opportunities become available after the completion of applicants first year. 

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program

The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program enhances leadership among international professionals who collaborate to address local and global challenges, as well as foster change for our collective good. Through academic study and professional development with U.S. counterparts, this growing global network shares best practices and builds expertise in fields of critical importance.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to applicants in possession of an undergraduate degree and proficient English abilities. Applicants must have a five year minimum of full-time, professional work experience outside of the United States. Demonstrated leadership qualities and a record of public service in the community are also required. Please contact the U.S. Embassy, Public Affairs Section, or Binational Fulbright Commission in your country of residence to learn about possible specific program requirements.

Recipients will be awarded 100% fee waivers for tuition and other costs at the assigned host university, pre-academic English language training (if required), a living allowance, accident and sickness coverage, a book allowance, a one-time computer subsidy, free international travel to and from the U.S., and a Professional Development allowance for activities.

NYU Wagner Scholarships

NYU Wagner offers various scholarships and fellowships designed to identify and reward their most outstanding students. These programs are available to both domestic and international students enrolled at NYU Wagner. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship or fellowship. 
Scholarship awards range from 25% to 100% tuition fee waivers depending on the scholarship. Fellowship awards range from 50% to 100% tuition fee waivers depending on the program.

Microsoft Disability Scholarship

Microsoft created the Microsoft Disability Scholarship in order to empower and enable people with disabilities. This is a renewable scholarship awarded to promising high school seniors with disabilities, who plan to attend a vocational or academic college and pursue a career in the technology industry.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to students who plan to attend an undergraduate program at a university in the USA, or a university with a USA-Affiliate for financial transactions. Students must declare an approved major in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, law, business, or a related field. Students must also have a high school cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher, and Require financial assistance to attend college.

Recipients will be awarded $5,000 USD for each year of their undergraduate studies. 

Illinois Wesleyan International Scholarships

Illinois Wesleyan University is proud to award scholarships and need-based financial aid to international students entering their freshman year at IWU. The two academic scholarships offered are the Merit-Based Scholarship and the President’s Scholarship.

ELIGIBILITY:

These scholarships are open to all enrolling undergraduate students at IWU who are not U.S citizens. 

Merit Scholars will be awarded between $16,000 and $30,000 USD per year for four years of an undergraduate degree. Presidential Scholars will be awarded 100% tuition fee waivers for four years of an undergraduate degree. 

Colombia College Scholarships

Colombia College offers generous scholarships based on academic merit and other varying factors. These are stackable scholarships which are designed to support both domestic and international students enrolling at CC.

ELIGIBILITY:

Recipient awards range from $500 USD to 100% tuition fee waivers depending on the scholarship. 

The NextGen Scholarship

P.E.R.K Consulting understands firsthand how easy it is for deserving students to lose out on good opportunities due to a lack of resources. Therefore, they created the NextGen Scholarship Fund for international students who come to the United States in hopes of obtaining higher education.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to current undergraduate students attending a 2 or 4 year college with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicants must be non-U.S. citizens currently residing in or attending university in Washington DC, Maryland, or Virginia.

Recipients will be awarded $1000 USD. 

East-West Center Scholarships and Fellowships

The East-West Center and the University of Hawai‘i have teamed up in order to create various graduate programs for international students. These programs are designed to foster a sense of community and develop leadership skills through cultural exchange, shared experiences, and collaborative preparation.

ELIGIBILITY:

These programs are open to graduate students from the United States, Asia, and the Pacific. Further eligibility varies depending on the scholarship. 
Recipient awards range from discounted housing rates to 100% tuition fee waivers + allowances. 

ZLOG Scholarship

The Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Management (ZLOG) is a high-quality degree taught in a truly global setting, which guides its graduates to become proficient in both problem solving and leadership. This Masters program is conducted by ZLC at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.  

ELIGIBILITY:

The ZLC invites students from all backgrounds, countries, and disciplines to apply, so long as they possess an undergraduate degree. 
Recipients will be awarded 70% tuition fee waivers.

University of Wisconsin- Superior NTW Program

The University of Wisconsin- Superior, through their Nonresident Tuition Waiver (NTW) Program, hopes to make the cost of studying at UW-Superior affordable to a wide range of students from diverse backgrounds.

ELIGIBILITY:

These scholarships are open to all international undergraduate and graduate students enrolling at UW-Superior. 
Recipient awards range from $5,300 to $8,700 USD depending on the scholarship.

Brandeis University International Programs

The International Student and Scholars Office at Brandeis University offers various programs designed to enhance the American educational experience for their international students and scholars. Some of these programs include scholarship opportunities.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship.  
Recipients will be awarded 100% tuition fee waivers. Additional awards vary depending on the scholarship.  

University of South Carolina Scholarships

The University of South Carolina offers a generous array of scholarships for freshmen who are not state residents. Only one merit award per person is allowed, but merit awards can be stacked with other USC scholarships.

ELIGIBILITY:

These scholarships are open to all first time students enrolling at USC who reside outside of South Carolina. Further eligibility varies depending on the scholarship. 
Recipient awards range from $ 500 to $22,000 USD per year depending on the scholarship. Additional bonuses will vary. 

University of Massachusetts Non-Resident Merit Scholarships

The University of Massachusetts wants to reward their first time students who are making the big decision to study abroad, or to study outside of their home state. To do so, they offer a handful of merit scholarships available to international students and non-Massachusetts residents.

ELIGIBILITY:

These scholarships are open to first-time, first-year, undergraduate students with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Recipients will be awarded between $5,000 and $10,000 USD depending on academic merit.

University of Missouri-Kansas City International Scholarships

The University of Missouri-Kansas City offers several small scholarship opportunities for academically talented international students. Students may stack these scholarships with various other private scholarships, which are available through the UMKC website. 

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility varies depending on the scholarship. 
Recipient awards range from $2,000 to $8,000 USD (not including the private scholarships).

Vanderbilt University Merit Scholarships

Each year, Vanderbilt University awards merit-based scholarships to applicants who demonstrate exceptional accomplishments and intellectual promise. These students represent the top 1% of all freshman applicants to Vanderbilt, and with the limited number of merit scholarships available, the selection process is very competitive.

University of South Alabama International Scholarships

The University of South Alabama is proud to offer a number of scholarship opportunities for their international students. As many of these are competitive awards, students are encouraged to apply for admission prior to the priority deadline dates to ensure consideration.

Rotary Peace Fellowships

Each year, Rotary awards 130 fellowships to dedicated leaders from around the world, which enables them to study at one of their peace centers. Through academic training, practice, and global networking opportunities, the Rotary Peace Center helps to mold professionals and practitioners into experienced and effective catalysts for peace.

ELIGIBILITY:

Eligibility varies between the Master’s Degree Program and the Professional Development Certificate Program. 
Recipients will be awarded 100% fee waivers for tuition, housing, travel, and any other related costs. 

Fulbright Program

The Fulbright Program provides orientation and enrichment opportunities to enhance the Fulbright Program experience in the United States. The U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) sponsors the Fulbright Program under policy guidelines established by the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board (FSB) and in cooperation with bi-national Fulbright Commissions and the Public Affairs Sections of U.S. Embassies abroad.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to international students from any country who are not U.S. citizens, U.S. permanent residents, or dual citizens of the U.S. and another country. Program eligibility and selection procedures vary widely by country.

Recipients will be awarded stipend, monthly maintenance, travel and tuition assistance, grant stipends and benefits vary from country to country. Grants awarded to countries with Fulbright Commissions often differ from those to countries without Fulbright Commissions.

Scholarships to Study Abroad in Canada

University of Manitoba Scholarships

The Government of Manitoba wants you to succeed as a graduate student. Therefore, they offer a number of scholarships to both their international and domestic students who are facing financial hardship, or need support to pay student expenses.

Recipient awards range from $10,000 to $50,000 CAD depending on the scholarship.

FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship

FINCAD offers their Women in Finance Scholarship in hopes of encouraging and supporting talented women in the field of finance, particularly those pursuing careers in financial asset management, market risk management, and derivatives finance within the capital markets.

ELIGIBILITY:

This scholarship is open to women from all countries who are enrolled in finance related postgraduate programs. 

One recipient will be awarded $20,000 CAD. $10,000 of this will be paid directly to the recipient, while the other $10,000 will be paid to their educational institution to help cover the cost of tuition. 

Humber University International Scholarships

Humber University wants to make sure their international students are able to get the financial aid they need in order to complete their studies. Therefore, they offer various small scholarships, awards, and bursaries to their academically talented foreign students.

York University International Scholarships

Fulbright Scholarships- Canada

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed study/research projects or for English teaching assistant programs. These scholarships are open to candidates who hold an excellent academic record in their postgraduate studies, possess strong leadership skills, and have a high sense of social commitment. Further eligibility varies depending on the scholarship.

Recipients will be awarded round trip international airfare, a monthly stipend, health insurance, and assistance in the visa application process.
